In a clothing or shoe shop, one product is really dozens: every size in every colour, each with its own barcode and stock. Switch&Save EPOS keeps them under one style, so you can see which sizes are running low, and an exchange is one transaction instead of a refund and a new sale.
It is the same software as our retail EPOS system, set up for boutiques, fashion shops and shoe shops.

From £349 + VAT upfront plus a monthly service plan, on a 12-month minimum term. See EPOS pricing · Compare the two packages · Book a free demo
What does a clothing shop EPOS system do?
It handles the parts of fashion retail a basic till can’t:
- Variants: one style with a grid of sizes and colours; each variant has its own barcode, price and stock.
- Exchanges and returns: take items back and add new ones in one go, with the difference paid, refunded or given as store credit.
- Labels: print labels and barcodes for the products you pick.
- Ranges: brands, sub-categories and a seasonal calendar for sales.
- Stock: stock by size and colour, and transfers between shops.
- Customers: gift vouchers, store credit, and loyalty points and cards.
Switch&Save EPOS features for clothing and shoe shops
- Sizes and colours: One style with a size and colour grid; each variant has its own barcode, price and stock.
- Quick exchanges: Take items back and add new ones in one go; the difference is paid or refunded.
- Barcode labels: Print labels and barcodes for the products you pick.
- Gift vouchers and store credit: Sell gift vouchers, and give store credit on returns.
- Brands and seasons: Brands, sub-categories and a seasonal calendar for sales.
- Stock for every variant: Stock by size and colour, and transfers between shops.
- Card payments built in: DNA Payments, Teya and Dojo terminals: the amount goes straight to the card machine.
- Analytics on every sale: Sales, margin, best sellers and busy times for any period, against last year.
Sizes, colours and barcode labels
Make one style, then build the grid of sizes and colours, up to four levels. Each variant gets its own barcode, price and stock, so a size 8 and a size 14 of the same dress are counted separately. Print labels and barcodes for the products you pick, and every tag scans at the till.
Shoes work the same way: one style, a grid of sizes and colours. The clothing set-up uses large, easy-to-tap tiles, five to a row. Setting up a new boutique? Our guide to installing an EPOS bundle in a boutique walks through the steps.
Exchanges, refunds and store credit
Take the old item back and add the new one in the same transaction; the difference is paid, refunded or given as store credit. Gift vouchers sell at the till, and store credit on returns keeps the money in your shop. Our guide to gift cards with POS covers set-up and the UK rules.
Brands, seasons and stock across shops
Organise your range by brand and sub-category, and plan sales with the seasonal calendar. Stock is held by size and colour, and you can transfer stock between shops when one branch has the size another needs. Analytics shows sales, margin, best sellers and busy times for any period against last year, and the Stock valuation report is ready to run. Regular stock takes show where stock goes missing; read how an EPOS system helps prevent stock theft.

What the monthly Cloud & Care plan covers
The monthly fee is a service plan, not a payment for the hardware, which is yours. It covers:
- Cloud: sales, products and reports sync to the web portal, so you can see your reports and manage your tills from anywhere.
- Automatic cloud backup of your products, sales and settings.
- Software updates: new features, security updates and UK rule changes such as VAT, installed automatically.
- UK support: remote support Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm, by phone, WhatsApp and email.
- Card machine as set out for your package, and set-up help: we help load your products and train your team, as agreed in your order.
Key terms: 12-month minimum term · No change-of-mind returns · Card processing fees separate · Business customers only. Read the terms and the refund and cancellation policy before you order.
Clothing shop EPOS: frequently asked questions
How do sizes and colours work?
Make one style, then build the grid of sizes and colours (up to four levels). Each variant gets its own barcode, price and stock.
Can customers exchange items?
Yes. Take items back and add new ones in one go; the difference is paid or refunded, or given as store credit.
Can I bring my products from my old till?
Yes. Import products, offers, customers, suppliers, users and stock from Excel or CSV, or straight from eight other till systems.
Which card machines work with it?
DNA Payments, Teya and Dojo terminals are built in, so the amount goes to the card machine and is never keyed twice.
Can I have more than one till?
Yes. Add extra tills in the same shop; each keeps selling if the link to the main till drops and catches up afterwards.
Is it made for UK shops?
Yes: UK VAT and VAT return, UK shop time on every report, and UK rules such as Challenge 25 age checks, price-marked packs and HFSS offers.
Is there a minimum term?
Yes, 12 months on both packages. You can’t cancel for convenience during the term: ending early means an early termination charge based on the monthly fees left. After that the plan runs monthly and you can end it with 30 days’ written notice. Cancelling a Direct Debit or card payment does not end the agreement.
Which package works out cheaper?
In year one the Complete Package costs £1,297 + VAT and the Upfront Package £1,199 + VAT. Over three years the Upfront Package saves £434 (£1,799 against £2,233, both + VAT). Card processing fees are extra with both.
